Togo Was Feeling Naughty

A book that will bring a smile to your face

I am taking up this review assignment with trepidation, as I do not think I have any qualification on the subject related to this book. The only experience I had with a non-human friend was our domestic cat of many years when I was in high school. She could be mischievous at times, but a cat’s ability to be mischievous is very much below that of a dog, as so delightfully described in “Togo Was Feeling Naughty”.

The book begins with a description of the mutual affections between Togo and his human mummy. It then proceeds to the story, sometimes in doggish language, about the various naughty but clever things Togo did when her human mummy left him one day because she had to run an errand. The mischievous deeds were illustrated by many excellent sketches which are both lively and funny. It takes a lot of imagination to come up with the various misdeeds performed by Togo during the day. In particular, it takes a big brain to think of the idea that a dog, armed with nothing but his paws, can dig the biggest hole in the universe. Moreover, only a special kind of talent can come up with the idea that peeing on the big yellow spade could escape the detection of mummy.

In conclusion, the book will bring a smile to your face whether you are a dog lover or not.
